About Nicki
Nicki currently teaches fourth-grade in Central Florida. A 20 year veteran, she loves spending her days surrounded by books and children. She also serves as an adjunct instructor at the University of Central Florida, teaching Literacy Assessment and Instruction, Diagnostic and Corrective Reading, and Literature for Children. Her greatest joy is welcoming students (both young and old) into the avid reader's club.
Nicki teaches with her husband, Jeff, in the same school their daughter, Alex attends. Their son, Brad, is at the high-school across the street. Together, the family enjoys going to football games, visiting theme parks, and reading.

About Michelle
Michelle is an Assistant Professor in Reading at the University of Central Florida. Her "real job" is teaching pre-service educators and graduate students. She also makes time to provide professional development to teachers and administrators. She has taught in public schools in Maine and Florida (she likes extremes) and served as a professional developer for FLaRE (Florida Literacy and Reading Excellence Center). She has co-authored numerous articles and two books with Nicki related to their work in the areas of engagement and comprehension. She has a wonderful husband (also an educator) and two fantastic children. She enjoys traveling, of course reading, and finishing crossword puzzles.
